Still Playing?

Jason - are you still playing Champions? I still play pretty regularly if you're interested.

Anyone else still playing?

It's more or less a time killer for me. Not that I have a lot, but if I'm just taking a break or something, I break out the CO smile

I haven't installed it on the new laptop. I didn't bother because I didn't think anyone else was still playing. I recall you saying you were still playing a couple months ago (in email, I think) but I thought you were being sarcastic.tongue

I would like to see how the new laptop handles it, but not wild about starting a monthly subscription again ... I'll think about it...

Re: Still Playing?

I've got that lifetime subscription that I'm doing absolutely nothing with.

Of course, I realize your own account has characters you want.

Re: Still Playing?

[Wrings hands in a sinister fashion] At last my plan comes to fruition, and I can play CO for free and foreverafter without spending a penny on the lifetime subscription! Muhahahahahahahaha!

I appreciate the thought, but I'd feel like a douche if I took your account, even if you're not using it.

Re: Still Playing?

There's definitely nothing douchey about using an account that most definitely is NOT being used. I don't have a gaming computer at all, bro.

(I will be getting one later this year. Probably.)

Re: Still Playing?

I should also mention that I'm using the monthly subscription as a reason *not* to play, to stay focused on other projects I want to complete. But I suppose it's a moot point since I usually spend at least an hour a night playing BFBC2 ...

I'll leave it up to you, Colin. But if there's any chance you will want it back, I recommend keeping it for yourself.

Re: Still Playing?

0% right now. YEARS down the road, assuming it survives and they add more content and most importantly, tune the freaking 'instances' (aka Group missions), I would still give it no more than a 10% chance.

Great concept, awesome character generator, really poor content.

Re: Still Playing?

Okay, in spite of the fact that I've been enjoying BFBC2, and that work often keeps me late, and that I need to sign up and complete ACSC by correspondence, and that I really have more constructive things I should be doing with my free time, and that I'll be in FL without a gaming PC 2-13 August ... in spite of all these things I reactivated my Champions account. I felt like a change, and there was a "special", a 3-month reactivation for $10/mo.

Re: Still Playing?

Jason and I have been playing for an hour or so almost every night this week. It's a nice stress release for me to punch some badguys in the da face. DA FACE!

I still think the game's biggest appeal is in the character customization and tweaking the powers - not the gameplay itself. If they could just tweak a couple of in-game issues and MAKE SOME MORE CONTENT, I think it would be a lot better.

Re: Still Playing?

Dungeons / team missions were really disappointing. And the mobs running away to bring adds when you have more than 2 players together was retarded, too.

Otherwise, I liked that game quite a bit. But by 25th or whatever... I was tired of that.

Re: Still Playing?

Group content was the main issue for all of use i think, almost all of em were easier to solo than to group which is ummm, sillly

Re: Still Playing?

All of the complaints are valid, though I actually like the fact that mobs will run for help. That's an aspect they carried over from City of Heroes. While it might seem annoying, once you learn to expect it, it becomes just another factor you have to plan for in battle. But as Rialm said, the group content (at least that I've experienced) is lacking. Granted, I haven't progressed any character past 26, so I have no idea what the other content is like, but none of the group content I've experienced to that point has drawn me in. I'm also kinda confused about the world ... even before the game came out I saw/heard about places like Lemuria and Monster Island (or whatever it's called), which I still haven't discovered. The only "lands" I know are the ones reached through the jet. I'm probably wrong, but lately I've had the strange feeling that I've missed or overlooked something, that I could be exploring other places than the Desert, Canada, and Millenium City. I know there are some places on those maps, like the prison and Area 51, that I haven't really explored, but I still have the feeling there are other instance entrances that I'm missing.

But like Greegan said, the real fun of the game is character creation and experimenting with new powers/combinations, which is why only one of my characters has progressed past 20. I'd like to take someone to 40 if for no other reason than to see all the realms. But I'm casual about it, so it may/may not ever happen.
